Dr. Chung graduated from UCLA San Fernando Valley psychiatry residency and then completed a one-year fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry. He is double board-certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry, through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Chung was commissioned in the US Navy, and received his medical degree from Uniformed Services University, in Bethesda, MD. He then completed his transitional internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He served as a flight surgeon for 7 years, separating from the US Navy as a Lieutenant Commander.
