Opioid Addiction Treatment Center

Specializing In Residential Opiate Addiction Detox & Relapse Prevention

Opioid Addiction Is A Public Health Emergency

Opioid dependence can happen to anyone — this class of drugs is easily addictive and extraordinarily dangerous. In fact, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services declared a public health emergency for opioids in 2017. For these reasons, opioid addiction treatment is critical to change this public health crisis. The safest way to overcome these drugs is in the residential setting D’Amore Healthcare offers the community. Our practices are informed by the science of psychiatry, nutrition and internal medicine to keep patients comfortable, while addressing the psychological stress inherent to opioid dependence and withdrawal. Our practices are founded on safety and comfort.

Why D'Amore Mental Health's Opioid Addictoin Treatment Works

D’Amore Healthcare is a nationally-recognized, licensed addiction treatment center. Our approach is designed to address the opioid addiction and its consequences for the individual and their loved ones and friends. Our approach is personalized for each individual to ensure a high quality of life, including social, spiritual and physical wellness.

The relationship developed with opioids requires careful attention, as we slowly replace it with human acknowledgment, affirmation, reassurance and encouragement. As a result, you will develop the skills, replacement behaviors and relief to live a life of purpose, self-forgiveness, belonging, authenticity and balance. Therefore, we take your entire medical history, mental health history, social circle and self-care patterns into account. The staff at D’Amore Healthcare will work with you to get to work on your goals through a personalized treatment plan.

Opioid abuse and addiction require detox, therapy, and aftercare support. Medication-assisted treatment is necessary if you have used in the last 48 hours.

Detoxification typically takes 5-7 days. The withdrawal symptoms that arise can be very painful, nursing, clinical, psychiatric and medical supervision is on site. Our goal is to relieve symptoms while restoring circadian rhythm, hydration and nutrition.

Once patients are stable, they begin therapy in our rehab program. Each patient’s situation is different and your needs are evaluated to determine your length of stay in our program. A personalized treatment plan will include detoxification goals, focused treatment goals and discharge goals. If you need it, you will receive medication-assisted treatment during rehab.

We offer the following addiction recovery services to build self-efficacy, curb triggers, eliminate cravings and improve emotional regulation:

What You Need To Know About Opioid Addiction

If you’ve spent any time watching the news over the past few years, you know that the United States is in the middle of an epidemic. In 2017, the US Department of Health and Human Services declared opioid addiction to be a public health emergency. In the following year, the Centers for Disease Control revealed that opioids are now killing as many Americans as guns. Moreover, we are learning the hard lesson that this disease affects people from all walks of life.

What Are Opioids?

Opioids are a broad group of pain-relieving drugs derived either from the opium poppy or created synthetically in a laboratory. The drugs work by acting on opioid receptors in the body, stifling signals of pain and boosting feelings of pleasure. Naturally-derived opioids, also known as opiates, include heroin, morphine, and codeine. The prescription drugs hydrocodone, oxycodone, and fentanyl are examples of synthetic opioids. Unfortunately, the same properties that make these drugs highly effective pain relievers also make them extremely addictive.

Who Suffers From Opioid Addiction?

The short answer is that we all do. A common stereotype holds that opioid addiction is most common among the very poor, who are thought to abuse the drugs to deal with the stress of poverty. Another stereotype is that opioid abuse is prevalent in those wealthy enough to indulge their whims without the fear of losing their employment. However, a study by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) shows that these notions are outdated. According to the CDC, heroin use in households making less than $20,000 per year and in households making more than $50,000 a year have increased at a similar rate (62% and 60% respectively). However, heroin use in households making between $20,000 and $50,000 has increased by 77%. Furthermore, those with opioid addictions are not the only ones who suffer. The disease reaches everyone from family and friends of those directly afflicted, to classmates and co-workers, to police, emergency, and hospital personnel.
